Raja Raghuvanshi’s Dream Lives On: Family Opens ‘Raja Bhoj’ Restaurant in Indore

Indore, MP: The tragic Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, which captured nationwide attention, has left an enduring mark on his family. Raja’s body was discovered on May 2, 2025, in a remote area of Shillong, Meghalaya during what was supposed to be his honeymoon. The investigation named his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, along with several associates, as key suspects. Court proceedings are still ongoing.

Amid this heartbreak, Raja’s family has fulfilled one of his unachieved dreams: opening a restaurant.

Turning Tragedy into a Tribute

Raja had long planned to start his own restaurant or café after marriage. His father had already acquired land in Indore’s Kat Road area, intending to build a family-run business. However, his untimely death disrupted these plans.

Raja’s brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, shared that the family was devastated, both emotionally and financially. Frequent trips to Shillong and related expenses drained resources, and their transport business also suffered. Amid these challenging times, the family realized that the only way forward was to channel their energy into Raja’s dream.

‘Raja Bhoj’ Becomes Reality

Following Diwali, the Raghuvanshi family opened ‘Raja Bhoj’, a restaurant named in honor of Raja. Vipin explained that the family worked tirelessly to establish the eatery. Raja’s father personally engages with customers in the evenings, keeping the family connection strong and alive.

Plans for the restaurant were made even before Raja’s wedding, with responsibilities divided among family members. Originally, the eatery was to be called ‘Raja Bhos ka Dhaba’, with Raja’s father managing operations at home. Despite the tragic circumstances, the family has strived to keep Raja’s vision alive.

Seeking Justice

Vipin also expressed frustration over inconsistencies in witness statements, suggesting efforts to provide relief to the main accused, Sonam. He urged all witnesses to remain consistent in their testimonies and called for strict punishment for all involved in Raja’s murder.

The opening of Raja Bhoj stands as a heartfelt tribute, symbolizing both resilience and the fulfillment of a dream that tragedy could not take away.
