Jaipur, Rajasthan: A fresh Western Disturbance has become active over Rajasthan, bringing rainfall and a noticeable dip in temperatures across the state. On Tuesday morning, several areas including the capital Jaipur experienced light to moderate rain, accompanied by cold winds, increasing the winter chill.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for parts of Bikaner, Bharatpur, Kota, and Ajmer divisions, warning of light to moderate rainfall, strong gusty winds, and isolated hailstorms.
Rain Starts from Tuesday Morning
According to the Jaipur Weather Centre, within the past 24 hours, multiple regions in Rajasthan recorded light to moderate rain, along with foggy conditions. The cold wave continues in many parts, with Alwar recording the lowest minimum temperature at 4.5°C. The Shekhawati region is also experiencing a significant drop in temperature, causing discomfort among residents for the past four days.
Meteorologists predict that the cold spell is likely to persist in these regions for the next few days, keeping temperatures lower than normal.
Western Disturbance to Have Maximum Impact Today
The IMD has stated that the newly active Western Disturbance is expected to have its maximum impact on Tuesday, bringing light to moderate rainfall in Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and parts of Ajmer division. Isolated hailstorms and cold winds with speeds of 30–40 km/h are also possible.
Looking ahead, a gradual rise of 2–4°C in minimum and maximum temperatures is expected in the coming days, offering some relief from the current cold wave.
Residents are advised to take precautions, especially in areas prone to icy conditions and strong winds.
