Raebareli: The Sanatan Yatra in Shivgarh, Raebareli, has sparked controversy after participants allegedly displayed illegal weapons and delivered inflammatory speeches. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
Allegations of Incitement and Illegal Weapon Display
Madhav Singh reports that the Yatra, which began in Kumbi village under Shivgarh police jurisdiction, ended with a program behind Career Plus School in Shivgarh town, attended by a large gathering. During the event, speakers allegedly delivered provocative speeches, and some participants were seen waving swords openly.
A video of a female speaker has gone viral on social media, in which she is accused of making objectionable remarks, including instructing police to leave within 15 minutes and urging the protection of Sanatan Dharma in a provocative manner. The video clearly shows several individuals displaying illegal weapons in public. Local residents have expressed concern that such actions could have escalated tensions in the area.
Police Action and Investigation
Following a complaint lodged by a Kumbi resident at Shivgarh police station, authorities registered a case under relevant sections of law. Police are now examining the viral video and identifying the individuals involved.
Officials stated that additional police forces have been deployed in surrounding areas due to the seriousness of the situation. The administration has made it clear that any display of weapons or incitement under the guise of religious events will not be tolerated.
Local residents said the Sanatan Yatra was intended to be a peaceful religious procession, but the combination of inflammatory speeches and weapon display has raised concerns about public safety. Police continue to monitor social media closely and have indicated that strict action will follow.
