Punjab Becomes First State to Launch ‘Easy Registry’ for Property, CM Bhagwant Mann Highlights Benefits

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has unveiled a revolutionary initiative aimed at simplifying property registration across the state. With the launch of the ‘Easy Registry’ system, citizens will now experience a faster, transparent, and hassle-free process for registering land and property. The CM emphasized that the initiative aims to eradicate corruption and ensure smooth governance.

Simplifying Property Registration
For decades, property registration in Punjab was considered cumbersome and time-consuming. Citizens had to make multiple trips to sub-registrar offices, often facing delays and bureaucratic hurdles. Mann highlighted that the new system eliminates these difficulties, making property registration straightforward and accessible.

Quick Verification and Updates via WhatsApp
Under the Easy Registry system, document verification will be completed within 48 hours. Citizens will receive real-time updates of every step of the registration process directly on WhatsApp, from document submission to approval. The CM also stated that any objections raised will be immediately reviewed by the concerned Deputy Commissioner to confirm their validity, ensuring swift resolution.

Affordable and Citizen-Friendly
The CM announced that citizens can now obtain a ‘Sale Deed’ for just ₹500 through online portals or service centers. Additionally, the ‘Draft My Deed’ facility allows individuals to prepare registration documents themselves with the assistance of service center staff, eliminating the need for repeated bank visits or official trips. Once registration is complete, confirmation will be sent on WhatsApp, allowing citizens to collect their sale deed in a single visit.

A Landmark Reform in India
Mann proudly stated that Punjab is the first state in India to implement such a comprehensive, transparent, and citizen-centric property registration system. The initiative allows any sub-registrar office within a district to register properties located anywhere in the district. Offices such as the Mohali Sub-Registrar have been upgraded with help desks and comfortable waiting areas to support the new system.

Citizen Convenience at the Forefront
The CM stressed that this initiative is a historic milestone in administrative reforms, aimed at reducing unnecessary visits to government offices and providing large-scale convenience to citizens. The Easy Registry system ensures that property registration in Punjab enters a new era of efficiency, transparency, and speed.
