Ayodhya: Noor Alam, a resident near the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya, has gained recognition for organizing large-scale community meals and accommodations for devotees on his land adjacent to the Ram temple. Known proudly as Lord Ram’s neighbor, Noor Alam has once again made headlines as he is invited to the historic ceremony marking the hoisting of the Dharma Dhwaj on the temple’s main shikhara today, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Noor Alam first came into the spotlight during the Ram temple Pran Pratishtha ceremony on 22 January 2024. As the owner of the land adjoining the temple complex, Noor Alam facilitated arrangements for nearly 20,000 devotees, providing meals and shelter under the supervision of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust officials.
Speaking about the invitation to today’s event, Noor Alam said, “We have lived here for generations. Being known as the neighbor of Lord Shri Ram is a matter of immense pride for us. Attending this historic occasion is a privilege. We will certainly be there to witness history in the making. Moments like these are remembered for a lifetime.”
On being asked about the honor of living next to Ram Lalla, he added, “Words cannot express the pride we feel. Everyone in Ayodhya is joyous today. This is the palace of Lord Ram, and we are all his subjects. Since the Pran Pratishtha, the atmosphere has been filled with happiness and blessings. No one here is troubled; divine grace is upon everyone.”
Noor Alam’s ancestral land, which houses his Yusuf sawmill business, lies immediately next to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. He, along with his family, resides and runs his business there. Beyond business, he maintains a kitchen to feed devotees and workers involved in temple construction. “If needed, I am ready to even change my profession to continue serving devotees,” he said.
With his dedication and devotion, Noor Alam continues to embody the spirit of service, ensuring that thousands of devotees and workers experience hospitality rooted in faith and generosity.
