
Jamshedpur, Jharkhand: President of India, Draupadi Murmu, arrived at the Jaher Thaan in Karandih, Jamshedpur, amid a highly enthusiastic and festive atmosphere. At the Sonari Airport, Chief Minister Hemant Soren formally welcomed President Murmu to the city.
The President graced the concluding ceremony of the centenary celebrations of the Ol Chiki script, which is used for the Santhali language, as the chief guest. During the program, she honored 12 individuals for their outstanding contributions to the preservation, promotion, and propagation of the Ol Chiki script. The event also saw the presence of Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Approximately 800 representatives from across the country attended the celebrations.
Vibrant Preparations and Cultural Festivities:
The ceremony drew a massive crowd, eager to witness the President’s arrival and participate in the celebrations. The Jaher Thaan premises were elaborately decorated, and cultural performances were organized to welcome the President. Local tribal communities and various organizations participated in traditional attire, adding color and vibrancy to the event.
Security Arrangements:
Given the President’s visit, security measures were intensified. The district administration, police forces, and central security agencies were on high alert. Barricades were set up around the venue, and all entrants underwent thorough security checks to ensure safety.
The President’s visit has created a festive and celebratory mood across the region, highlighting the significance of Ol Chiki script and Jharkhand’s rich cultural heritage.
