Despite living in Gerrards Cross, Prerna often emphasizes her connection to her roots. Born in Essex, England, she proudly refers to herself as a “daughter of Madhya Pradesh.” She has also participated in international events like the Global Investors Summit in Madhya Pradesh, showcasing her commitment to her home state. Her official communications as Mayor often include references to her children, Ryan and Kiara Bhardwaj.

Prerna credits her grandparents for instilling in her a strong sense of cultural heritage, including teaching her Hindi and Sanskrit. She holds deep reverence for religious sites in Madhya Pradesh and attributes her achievements to the blessings of Baba Mahakal of Ujjain and Maa Baglamukhi of Agar Malwa. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav congratulated her on her victory, affectionately referring to her as the “sister of the state.”
