Pre-India vs Africa 2nd ODI: Police Take Swift Action, Two Arrested for Ticket Scalping; Stadium Security Tightened

Raipur: Ahead of the second One Day International (ODI) between India and South Africa in Raipur, the city police conducted a major operation, arresting two youths for scalping match tickets. The accused were selling tickets online at inflated prices.

Arrests Made on Secret Tip-Off
According to the Civil Lines Police, they received a secret tip-off that some individuals were attempting to sell match tickets outside the stadium at exorbitant rates. Acting promptly, the police intercepted the suspects and arrested them red-handed. Both were reportedly from Fafadih, identified as Ritik Makhija and Devvrat Makhija. Police also seized their mobile phones, which are now under scrutiny to uncover possible connections to a larger scalping network.

Tightened Security for Match
The second ODI is scheduled to be played at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium, Raipur. In anticipation of the teams’ arrival, the police have deployed a large security force outside hotels and the stadium. The teams are expected to arrive today, followed by practice sessions tomorrow. Authorities are ensuring strict surveillance to prevent any untoward incidents.

Police Investigating Possible Syndicate
Investigators are analyzing call records and chat history from the seized phones to determine if more individuals are involved in the ticket scalping operation. Meanwhile, Raipur residents are eagerly looking forward to the high-profile match, which has generated significant local excitement.
