Lucknow: Family tensions have surfaced in the Yadav household, as Prateek Yadav, the younger brother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, made a startling announcement on social media. On Monday morning, Prateek shared an Instagram post stating that he intends to divorce his wife, Aparna Yadav.
The post, accompanied by a photograph of Aparna Yadav, reads in English: “I am going to divorce this selfish woman as soon as possible. She has ruined the relationships in my family. She only wants to become famous and influential. My mental health is very poor right now, and she does not care because she only worries about herself. I have never met such a cruel woman. I was unlucky to have married her.”
Aparna Yadav, a senior BJP leader, currently serves as the Vice-Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission. Prateek’s post has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread public discussion. As of now, Aparna Yadav has not commented on the matter.
The couple, married on November 4, 2011, have two daughters.
