Bhilwara: A terrifying incident shook the Arya Vidya Mandir campus in Bhilwara early Saturday morning, when a massive gas leak explosion destroyed a room on the third floor of the school building. Miraculously, five members of the headmaster’s family escaped unharmed, leaving the community in awe of their narrow escape.
The explosion occurred around 4 a.m. when Headmaster Balmukund, his wife, and their three young daughters were asleep in the room. The blast was so powerful that walls collapsed like cards, and pieces of the iron door were blasted 25 feet away, landing on a neighboring rooftop. The shocking event triggered panic across the locality, with residents rushing out of their homes.
Miraculous Escape
Despite the intensity of the explosion, Balmukund and his family suffered only minor injuries. According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Jaisingh Meena, the room had effectively become a gas chamber, and a small spark triggered the blast, scattering household items, including the TV, fridge, and cupboards, across the room like toys.
Forensic Team Investigates
Given the seriousness of the incident, the police and a special forensic (FSL) team collected samples from the debris to determine the exact cause of the explosion and the type of gas involved. All injured family members have received first aid and been discharged, and the investigation into the gas leak is ongoing.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential hazards of gas leaks and the importance of safety measures in residential and institutional buildings.
