Planning to Visit Vrindavan This Christmas and New Year? Know the Traffic Rules Before You Leave

VRINDAVAN, MATHURA: Every year, during Christmas and New Year, millions of devotees flock to Vrindavan to seek the blessings of Lord Banke Bihari. The massive crowds often lead to long delays and difficulty in completing darshan. To ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of devotees, the Vrindavan administration has implemented special traffic arrangements for the festive season.

Traffic Restrictions in Key Areas

  • All heavy and commercial vehicles are prohibited from Chhatikara to Kaswa Vrindavan.
  • Beyond the multi-level parking on the Chhatikara–Vrindavan route, no vehicles will be allowed.
  • Heavy vehicles, large and small buses are completely banned from Vaishnodevi Parking towards Vrindavan.
  • From Rukmani Bihar Golchakkar to Vrindavan, all heavy and commercial vehicles are prohibited.
  • From Sau-Saiya towards Vrindavan on the Mathura–Vrindavan route, all four-wheelers and heavy vehicles are restricted.
  • At Pani Ghat Tiraha (Yamuna Bridge) and along the Parikrama Marg towards Vrindavan, all vehicles are banned.
  • Vehicles approaching from Gokul Restaurant and Masani Chowk towards Kaswa Vrindavan are also restricted.

Traffic Diversions

  • Heavy vehicles traveling from the Yamuna Expressway to NH-19 via Vrindavan will now take Raya Cut and proceed via Mathura–Bareilly Highway to reach NH-19.
  • Similarly, vehicles from NH-19 via Chhatikara will be diverted to Yamuna Expressway through Mathura–Bareilly Highway.
  • Four-wheelers from both the Yamuna Expressway and Mathura city can enter only up to Sau-Saiya Hospital; beyond this, access is restricted.
  • Devotees’ vehicles coming from Chhatikara must park at Gokul Restaurant and near Ramleela Ground at Kalyan Karoti.

For devotees coming via Yamuna Expressway towards Kaswa Vrindavan:

  • Shiva Dhawa Front Parking
  • Bhopat Dhawa Parking
  • Paragliding Parking
  • Pani Gaon Pashu Paith (for large vehicles/buses)
  • Pawan Hans Helipad
  • Mandi Parking
  • Daruk Parking

For devotees entering from Mathura city towards Vrindavan:

  • Chauhan Parking
  • MVDA Parking
  • Mandi Parking
  • ITI College Parking (for large buses/travelers)
  • Pagal Baba Hospital Land Parking (near Sau-Foota Tiraha)

For devotees from Chhatikara towards Kaswa Vrindavan:

  • Mata Vaishnodevi Temple Front Parking (large vehicles)
  • Temporary Parking near Mata Vaishnodevi Temple (large vehicles)
  • Royal Bharti Mod Parking (small vehicles)
  • Annapurna Car Parking
  • Multi-Level Parking
  • Jadoun Parking (VIP)

For devotees from Thana Jait Cut towards Kaswa Vrindavan:

  • Chhah Shikhar Tiraha Parking (four-wheelers)
  • Jai Shiv Car Parking (four-wheelers)
  • Sunrakh Tiraha Mod Parking behind Prem Mandir

Emergency and Special Vehicles

  • Ambulances, fire service, and other emergency vehicles are exempt from restrictions.
  • E-rickshaws carrying senior citizens, differently-abled, or ill devotees may use the Parikrama Marg.
  • All other vehicles are fully restricted from Parikrama Marg; only pedestrians are allowed.

Devotees are urged to plan their journey carefully and follow these traffic directives to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage during the festive season.
