Patna: The East Central Railway (ECR) under the Danapur division is set to significantly expand parking facilities at six major stations from Patna to Mokama. The initiative aims to streamline vehicular movement, reduce congestion on surrounding roads, and provide safe and organized parking for passengers.
Enhanced Parking for Smooth Commute
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Danapur, Abhinav Siddharth, explained that the project is designed to make it easier for vehicles to access stations, ease traffic around busy areas, and offer commuters secure and well-managed parking spaces.
21,500 Parking Slots Planned
The ambitious plan includes accommodating up to 21,500 vehicles across key stations along the Patna-Mokama route. Officials anticipate that this will greatly improve convenience for daily travelers and reduce chaos during peak hours.
Work to Start After DPR Approval
The project is expected to commence once the Detailed Project Report (DPR) receives approval from the Railway Board. Sources indicate that the upgraded infrastructure is likely to enhance the travel experience of millions of daily passengers, making station access smoother and more efficient.
With proper execution, this move promises a safer, more organized commuting experience and a long-term reduction in road congestion around the railway stations.
