Patna: In a major move to enhance transparency, accountability, and discipline within the Patna police force, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma has launched a comprehensive verification drive targeting nearly 7,000 police constables deployed across the district.
To ensure strict monitoring, seven senior officers have been tasked with the responsibility of inspecting approximately 1,000 constables each. The exercise, officially referred to as the “Third Eye” initiative, requires officers to physically visit deployment sites, rather than relying solely on attendance registers or office records.
On-Site Physical Verification
The SSP’s office issued clear instructions emphasizing physical inspection at each posting or deputation location. Officers must confirm that personnel are actively engaged in their assigned duties. This ground-level verification aims to eliminate absenteeism and any discrepancies in duty performance, ensuring that every constable is accountable for their responsibilities.
Strict Timeline for Completion
The administration has set a deadline of 20 December 2025 for the completion of the verification process. Following the inspections, detailed reports from each officer will be submitted to the SSP. The drive has already entered its active phase, with officers visiting police stations, outposts, and key security points across the district.
This initiative reflects the Patna Police administration’s commitment to operational efficiency and proper management of its workforce. Beyond assessing the current status of personnel, the exercise will provide valuable insights for future deployments and force management, ultimately strengthening public safety measures in the region.
