Patna Police Make Shocking Revelations in NEET Aspirant Death Case

Patna: Patna Police have made several significant and sensational disclosures in connection with the suspicious death of a NEET aspirant girl in the city. Considering the seriousness of the case and growing public outrage, the Bihar government has handed over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

According to Patna Police, initial findings suggest that the victim’s family allegedly attempted to suppress the incident and avoided lodging a First Information Report (FIR) at the beginning.

CCTV Footage Sent to Special Forensic Lab

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma said that the CCTV footage from the hostel premises was sent to a specialised forensic laboratory. The lab has confirmed that the footage was not tampered with, strengthening the credibility of the video evidence.

Guard Broke Open the Door in Presence of Warden and Students

As per the CCTV footage, the girl returned to the hostel on January 5 along with a friend. That night, she reportedly stepped out of her room only twice, for about two minutes in total, and remained inside thereafter.

The next morning, when her room remained locked for a long period, the hostel guard broke open the door in the presence of the warden and other students.

Drug Purchase Confirmed Through UPI Records

Police technical investigation revealed that the girl was at her home in Jehanabad between December 27 and January 5. While returning to Patna, she reportedly purchased a medicine named ‘Amitone Plus’ from a medical store located at Arwal Mod in Jehanabad.

The purchase has been confirmed through UPI transaction records, the shopkeeper’s statement, and initial testimonies from family members.

Hospitalised Till January 10

The student was admitted to Prabhat Memorial Hospital from January 6 to January 10, where her condition reportedly remained critical. The hospital’s preliminary report stated that the cause of death appeared to be drug overdose.

Semen Traces Found, Sexual Assault Not Ruled Out

However, the investigation took a disturbing turn after the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report found semen traces on the victim’s undergarments, indicating that the possibility of sexual assault cannot be ruled out.

Based on these findings, both the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and the CBI have initiated DNA profiling of suspected individuals.

Diary and Mobile Phone Provide Key Inputs

Investigators also recovered a personal diary and a mobile phone from the victim’s hostel room. Forensic analysis of the phone revealed that the student had searched online for cyanide and sleeping pills on December 24.

Police sources said the diary contains important information related to the student’s mental condition and personal struggles. These details are now being treated as crucial inputs for the ongoing CBI probe.

Two Police Officers Suspended

In a major administrative action, Patna Police have suspended the Additional Station House Officer (ASHO) of Kadamkuan Police Station and the SHO of Chitragupt Nagar Police Station with immediate effect.

SSP Kartikeya Sharma stated that the action was taken due to alleged delay in sharing information and negligence in duty. He added that timely reporting could have helped in preserving crucial evidence at an earlier stage.
