
Patna | February 21, 2026: With the festival of Holi fast approaching, the railways have announced the operation of 21 special trains from Patna, Pataliputra and other stations under the Danapur Division to ease the heavy passenger rush. Thousands of migrant workers and professionals residing in other states travel back to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during the festival season, often facing difficulties in securing confirmed tickets.
To address the surge in demand, the railways have introduced special services on key routes, ensuring smoother travel for passengers heading home to celebrate the festival of colors.
According to Abhinav Siddharth, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Danapur Division, special arrangements have also been made at major stations to handle the additional crowd efficiently.

Puri–Patna Special
- Train No. 08439: Puri to Patna — February 28 to March 28 (Every Saturday)
- Train No. 08440: Patna to Puri — March 1 to March 29 (Every Sunday)
Gondia–Patna Special
- Train No. 08861: Gondia to Patna — March 2 (Monday)
- Train No. 08862: Patna to Gondia — March 3 (Tuesday)
Patna–New Delhi Special
- Train No. 03293: Patna to New Delhi — March 5 to March 15 (Daily)
- Train No. 03294: New Delhi to Patna — March 6 to March 16 (Daily)
Patna–Charlapalli Special
- Train No. 03253: Patna to Charlapalli — March 9 to March 30 (Monday & Wednesday)
- Train No. 03254: Charlapalli to Patna — March 11 to April 1 (Every Wednesday)
- Train No. 03255: Charlapalli to Patna — March 13 to April 3 (Every Friday)
Sheikhpura–Anand Vihar Special
- Train No. 02397: Sheikhpura to Anand Vihar — March 8 to March 15 (Every Sunday)

Special Arrangements at Major Stations
Enhanced passenger facilities and crowd management measures have been implemented at major stations under the Danapur Division, including:

- Kiul
- Jhajha
Railway authorities have deployed additional checking staff, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, and supervisory officers to ensure passenger safety and smooth boarding.

The move is expected to provide significant relief to passengers struggling with long waiting lists during the peak festive period. With these additional services, travelers can plan their journeys more confidently and celebrate Holi with their families without last-minute travel anxiety.
