Patna, January 5, 2026: A sense of alarm has gripped Patna’s Masoudhi area after the mysterious disappearance of Rohit Kumar, also known as Kishoo, the grandson of renowned local doctor Satish Kumar. The Class 11 student has been missing for seven days, and his family fears he may have been kidnapped.
The incident occurred in Brahmrishi Colony when Rohit, the son of Chintu Sharma, left his maternal grandparents’ house on the morning of December 29, saying he needed to buy a notebook. He had been given ₹150 by his grandmother for the purchase. Since then, he has neither reached his coaching center nor returned home, prompting intense worry among family members.
Family Reports Missing Case
Rohit’s family immediately lodged a missing person complaint at Masoudhi police station. Despite initial investigations, no concrete leads have emerged. The family suspects foul play, noting that Rohit’s mobile phone is switched off and he had no known disputes with anyone, making his sudden disappearance particularly alarming.
Protests Against Police Inaction
Local residents and Rohit’s relatives have expressed their anger over the delay in locating the boy, staging a protest outside the police station and accusing authorities of negligence. The family has demanded that the investigation consider abduction as a possible angle, rather than treating it solely as a missing person case.
Police Investigations Underway
Authorities have intensified their probe, reviewing CCTV footage, questioning people in contact with Rohit, and conducting searches in the surrounding areas. While the investigation is ongoing, the police have yet to make any breakthrough.
Community on Edge
The incident has cast a shadow over Dr. Satish Kumar’s family, leaving parents and relatives distraught. Fear and anxiety have spread throughout the neighborhood, with residents warning that public protests may escalate if Rohit is not found soon.
The entire Masoudhi community now waits anxiously for the next steps in the search, hoping for the safe recovery of Rohit Kumar.
