The chilling memories of the Parus Hospital shootout in Patna resurfaced once again after Bihar Police brought the prime accused Sheru alias Onkar Singh on remand from West Bengal in connection with the Chandan Mishra murder case. Investigators believe Sheru Singh’s interrogation will now unravel the remaining mysteries behind one of the most sensational killings in the city’s recent history.
The Man Who Spread Fear
Chandan Mishra was a convicted gangster whose name was enough to send shivers down the spines of traders and businessmen. At the time of the incident, he was undergoing medical treatment at Patna’s Parus Hospital under police custody. Despite tight security, what unfolded on July 17, 2025, shocked the entire state.
What Happened on July 17
The morning began like any other day at the hospital. Suddenly, a man wearing a white printed shirt entered the premises along with four accomplices, all wearing caps. CCTV footage later revealed that the group moved confidently towards the upper floors, fully aware of the room where Chandan Mishra was admitted.
As they reached the room, the man leading the group cocked his pistol while walking. Within moments, all five assailants stormed into the hospital room and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Chandan Mishra on the spot. The entire attack lasted only a few minutes.
Execution and Escape
After carrying out the murder, the shooters swiftly exited the room and fled the hospital premises. The precision of the attack made it clear that the mission had been carefully planned and professionally executed.
Police investigations later identified the man leading the assault as Tausif Raza alias Badshah. According to investigators, the murder was carried out on the instructions of Sheru Singh, once a close associate of Chandan Mishra who later turned into his sworn enemy. Shockingly, Sheru allegedly ordered the hit while he himself was lodged in a jail in West Bengal.
City in Shock
The audacious daylight murder inside a reputed hospital caused panic and outrage across Patna. Treating the case as a major challenge, the Patna Police immediately launched an intensive investigation. CCTV footage became the key breakthrough, helping identify all five attackers.
The accused were named as:
- Tausif Raza alias Badshah
- Aqib Malik
- Sonu
- Kalu alias Mustaqeem
- Bhindi alias Balwant Singh
Swift Police Action
Within just three days of the crime, joint teams of the Patna STF and Kolkata STF tracked down Tausif Raza alias Badshah. He was arrested on the night of July 19–20 from a guest house in Anandpur, Kolkata. During interrogation, it emerged that all five shooters belonged to Sheru Singh’s gang and carried out the murder on his direct instructions.
Sheru Singh Now in Patna
The alleged mastermind Onkar Singh alias Sheru Singh has now been brought from Purulia, West Bengal, to Patna on police remand. Officials say his questioning is crucial to exposing the complete conspiracy, including planning, funding, and possible involvement of others in the hospital shootout.
Police sources maintain that Sheru Singh’s interrogation could lead to further arrests and finally close the chapter on a case that shook Bihar’s capital and raised serious questions about security inside medical institutions.
As the investigation enters its final phase, all eyes are now on what Sheru Singh reveals—and whether the full truth behind the Parus Hospital murder will finally come to light.
