Pappu Yadav Files Complaint Against Bihar Government with UN, Targets IPS Bhanu Pratap Singh

Patna, February 14, 2026: After his release from jail, independent MP Pappu Yadav of Purnia broke his silence, leveling serious allegations against the Bihar government and the police administration. Speaking to reporters in Patna before heading to Delhi, Yadav claimed that he was the target of a conspiracy to assassinate him, specifically pointing to IPS officer Bhanu Pratap Singh.

Yadav alleged that he faced inhumane treatment both in jail and at the hospital, and said he has lodged complaints with the Lokayukta as well as the United Nations (UN). “I was denied basic facilities and medical care during my detention,” Yadav said. He emphasized that he will take this fight to both constitutional and international platforms.

The MP accused Bhanu Pratap Singh of orchestrating threats linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and other recent police operations, claiming they were part of a broader plan to target him. “The way criminal elements, accompanied by armed officers in plain clothes, were present at my residence and handled the situation, it was clear that there was an assassination plot,” Yadav alleged. He further claimed that at PMCH, he was denied proper medical attention, including food and water for extended periods.

Yadav also criticized the political environment in Bihar, stating that honest leaders now have little space in the state’s politics. “If you rely solely on the judiciary, you may survive. Otherwise, the spirit to fight and struggle seems to be fading. There is no room left for truth-speaking, good people in Bihar politics,” he said.

He indicated that he would meet the Speaker of the Bihar Assembly to address these issues and stressed that his campaign for justice would continue both nationally and internationally.
