Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: A Pakistani woman, identified as Saba, also known as Nazia, who has been residing in India for 37 years using fake voter ID cards and multiple other documents, was recently arrested in Meerut. The case has sparked widespread attention. Saba’s daughter, Eman, is also a Pakistani citizen, born in Pakistan, while her two sons, including Farhaz, were born in Meerut. Both Eman and Farhaz practice law professionally. Saba’s husband, Farhat Masood, is a band business owner.
According to police, Saba was brought to Delhi Gate police station following her arrest. Her son Farhaz accompanied her and informed the authorities that the family owns valuable property under the name of Nadeer Ali Waqf, which is currently under dispute. The complainant, Rukhsana, is a tenant in this property and had previously filed a court case against Saba, which is still pending. The FIR against Saba appears to be linked to this property dispute.
Daughter Claims Indian Citizenship
Eman, Saba’s daughter, stated that as her father is Indian, she is also an Indian citizen. She added that her mother has long been seeking Indian citizenship. Eman emphasized that if Saba had engaged in fraudulent activity, she could not have qualified to become a practicing lawyer.
Allegations of Espionage
In her complaint, Rukhsana alleged that Saba’s father had been associated with Pakistan’s ISI and claimed that Saba and Eman may be working as Pakistani spies or sleeper agents. The complaint asserts that both mother and daughter have reportedly visited the Indian Army headquarters and Delhi-based ministries while concealing their identities.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Meerut police have seized Saba’s mobile phone, which may reveal details about her travels to Pakistan and contacts there. SSP Avinash Pandey stated that preliminary investigation has confirmed the allegations against Saba, leading to the FIR and a thorough investigation. Authorities also plan strict action against individuals involved in creating fake identification documents.
