Samastipur, Bihar: A shocking case of “Pakadua Vivah” (forced marriage) has come to light in Samastipur, Bihar. A student, Nitish Kumar, was allegedly abducted and forced into marriage after being drugged. When he regained consciousness, he found himself locked inside a room. The most horrifying revelation came when he was informed that he had been married against his will.
According to reports, Nitish Kumar had gone to a library on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. for studies. After leaving, he went out with his friends Rahul and Kundan for a cold drink. Allegedly, the friends spiked the cold drink with a sedative. As the drug took effect, Nitish was abducted, and the wedding rituals were carried out forcibly.
A video of the incident shows Nitish completely disoriented during the ceremony. He repeatedly collapsed in the wedding mandap, his head drooping, while others held him upright and forced him to complete the wedding rituals. Even the bride’s “mang” (marriage vow) was compelled while he was unconscious.
Nitish was kept confined in a locked room for nearly two days after the wedding. During this time, he recorded a video detailing his ordeal and sent it to his family. On viewing the video, his relatives immediately contacted the Patori police station. Acting promptly, police conducted a raid in Chakarajali village, rescued Nitish, and handed him over to his family.
DSP B.K. Medhavi stated that the student’s statement has been recorded, and a thorough investigation into the “Pakadua Vivah” allegations is underway. The girl involved has been sent back to her home, and police are actively searching for the accused.
