
Tikamgarh, Jan 29, 2026: A shocking case of attempted sexual assault has emerged from a government primary school in Palera, Tikamgarh district, where a 58-year-old teacher allegedly tried to molest a six-year-old girl. The incident sparked massive anger in the village, leading residents and local organizations to demand immediate action.
According to police reports, the first-grade student was taken to an empty classroom by her assistant teacher, identified as Kasim Khan, where he allegedly attempted to commit the crime. The child immediately informed her mother and grandmother after returning home, who then reported the matter to the local authorities.
The news quickly spread throughout the village, and hundreds of residents, along with members of Hindu organizations, gathered at the Palera police station, demanding strict action. The villagers also submitted a memorandum to the Tehsildar, insisting on stern measures and even bulldozer action against the accused. They warned that if justice was delayed, they might take matters into their own hands.
Acting swiftly, the police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested the accused teacher. Additional Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and all necessary legal action is being taken.
The incident has highlighted growing concerns about school safety and the urgent need for stricter oversight of educators in government institutions.
