Organised Crime in Jharkhand Linked to Pakistani Terror Modules; Crackdown on Gangsters’ Assets Intensifies

Organised crime in Jharkhand has taken a dangerous new turn, with state agencies uncovering links between local gangs and Pakistan-based terror modules. Evidence gathered by the Jharkhand ATS shows that weapons were being smuggled in from abroad and large sums of money were being routed to Pakistan through hawala networks. Acting on the alarming revelations, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed the ATS to accelerate action, particularly on extradition of fugitives abroad and confiscation of gangsters’ assets.

Pakistani Network Under Scanner

According to ATS and police investigations, notorious gangsters such as Aman Sahu, Prince Khan and Sujit Sinha are no longer confined to extortion, armed intimidation or local-level rackets. Their operations have reportedly expanded beyond India’s borders, finding channels of collaboration with terror operatives in Pakistan.
Evidence indicates that these gangs could provide reconnaissance, logistical aid and manpower to foreign terror groups — a direct threat to national security.
IG Operations Dr. Michaelraj S described the situation as “extremely dangerous,” warning that the nexus between organised crime and terrorism has emerged as a new and alarming challenge.

Chief Minister Orders Strong Action

Taking note of the evolving threat, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has issued strict instructions for an all-out crackdown. ATS SP Rishabh Jha confirmed that the process to extradite fugitive gangsters is being fast-tracked. Among them is Prince Khan, believed to be running his syndicate from Dubai and already facing a Red Corner Notice.
Simultaneously, authorities have intensified the seizure of illegal properties belonging to these gangs to cripple their financial networks.

Key Arrest Confirms International Nexus

One of the major breakthroughs came with the extradition of Sunil Meena alias Mayank Singh, a member of the Aman Sahu gang, from Azerbaijan. During interrogation, he revealed details of Pakistan-backed weapons supply chains, hawala financing routes and the use of drones — disclosures that have strengthened the ATS’s suspicion of a strong cross-border terror linkage.

With organised crime overtaking Naxalism as the state’s newest internal security threat, dismantling this international syndicate has become a top priority for Jharkhand’s security establishment.
