Opposition Leader Tears into Bhajanlal Government Over Bikaner Rape Case, Claims 11,000 Rapes Under Its Rule

Jaipur/Bikaner, Rajasthan: The brutal rape and murder of a minor girl in Ranjitpura, Bikaner, has ignited political and public outrage. On Monday, Rajasthan Assembly’s Leader of Opposition, Tikaram Jully, launched a scathing attack on the Bhajanlal government, calling the incident a “black mark” on the state’s law and order and labeling Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma as “weak.” Jully demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits.

Opposition Leader’s Strong Statement in Assembly
During the Assembly proceedings, Jully tore into the government’s claims of “good governance,” calling the Bikaner case a glaring example of its failure. “Four days have passed and the police have not caught the main accused. This shows that criminals have no fear of the law, and the Chief Minister has lost control over his departments,” Jully said.

Shocking Statistics Highlighted
Jully presented alarming figures to highlight the scale of the problem. According to him:

  • Since the Bhajanlal government came to power, over 11,000 women have been sexually assaulted in the state.
  • On average, 15 rapes occur daily in Rajasthan.
He criticized the government for promoting the image of a “safe Rajasthan” in advertisements while women and girls fear leaving their homes in reality.

Massive Public Protest in Ranjitpura
The local community has remained on a sit-in strike for four days, with more than 4,000 people demanding justice for the young victim. Protesters have warned that they will not disperse until the main accused are arrested, and the victim’s family receives adequate compensation and security.

Police Response Under Scrutiny
While police have detained some suspects, the main accused remain at large. Bikaner’s SP and IG have visited the site multiple times, but locals accuse the police of delaying action under pressure from influential people and attempting to suppress the case.

Public Outrage Escalates
The incident has triggered widespread anger, from social media to street protests. Markets in Bikaner saw partial shutdowns in protest, and opposition parties warned that if the culprits are not caught within 24 hours, the movement could spread across Rajasthan.
