New Delhi: Following the recent death of an engineer in Sector-150, Noida, concerns about public safety due to administrative negligence have resurfaced in Delhi. Open and unbarricaded potholes on roads in Dwarka, Palam, and Najafgarh are now posing a serious risk to residents and commuters. Authorities warn that these sites could lead to major accidents if not addressed promptly.
Near Brahma Apartments, a large pothole has formed on the service lane due to ongoing sewer line repairs. The lane is an important access route for nearby residential societies, but it remains poorly lit at night, with no barricades or warning signs in place. Similarly, in Dwarka Sector-13, a deep pothole on the service road near Ayudh Vihar Society has remained open for months, blocking the entire lane and endangering pedestrians and two-wheeler riders.
In addition, the long-standing construction of the airport drain has left narrow, unsafe pathways for pedestrians and children commuting to Metro stations. On Najafgarh Road, another pothole has been left unattended despite heavy traffic, increasing the likelihood of accidents.
Residents have expressed frustration over the persistent neglect, emphasizing that such gaps in public safety measures could have fatal consequences if not addressed immediately.
