On the first anniversary of the November 24 violence in Sambhal, the district administration, police force, and the Masjid Intizamia Committee have stepped into full alert mode. Security has been tightened across the city, with special focus on the sensitive religious site where tensions had escalated last year. Every corner of the area is under strict watch, and authorities have deployed extensive manpower to ensure peace.
Senior officials are monitoring the situation through drone cameras, enabling real-time surveillance of rooftops and narrow lanes to prevent the storage or use of any objectionable materials.
Officials Review Ground Situation, CCTV Control Room Inspected
On Sunday afternoon, ASP (North) Kuldeep Singh conducted a detailed inspection of Satyavrat Police Outpost along with deployed police forces. He reviewed the CCTV control room and issued necessary instructions to ensure seamless monitoring.
The ASP also carried out a joint foot patrol in the area with Masjid Intizamia Committee Secretary, Advocate Masood Farooqui. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against any anti-social elements attempting to disturb peace.
Heavy Deployment of Police, RPF, and PAC
ASP Kuldeep Singh informed that, in view of the incident’s anniversary, RPF, PAC, and police personnel have been deployed at key locations. He emphasized that all surveillance cameras installed by the administration and the Intizamia Committee are being continuously checked.
He added that drones are being used for full-area scanning, while social media activity is also being closely monitored. Police are in regular contact with nearly 24 individuals recently released on bail, and their movements remain under watch. Other court-monitored legal proceedings are also being reviewed closely.
Community Leaders Appeal for Peace and Harmony
During the inspection, Jama Masjid President Advocate Jafar Ali appealed to both Hindu and Muslim communities to maintain peace and brotherhood. He urged citizens not to fall for rumours or provocations and help preserve the city’s long-standing harmony.
