
Umaria: A rare wildlife spectacle thrilled tourists on a safari at the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, one of India’s most famous tiger habitats. In the Magadhi Zone near Mahaman Dam, visitors were fortunate to witness elephants, bears, and a tiger all in a single outing—a sight they are unlikely to ever forget.
A Magical Encounter with Wildlife
A herd of 10 wild elephants, including calves, was seen playing in the water, delighting tourists with their natural antics. The elephants’ playful behavior in the dam’s waters provided a perfect opportunity for visitors to capture stunning videos.
As the safari progressed, the excitement continued when tourists spotted a bear family, adding to the adventure. The grand finale came with a tiger sighting, leaving the visitors overjoyed and in awe of the reserve’s rich wildlife.
Elephants Make Bandhavgarh Their Home
Currently, around 50 wild elephants have made Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve their home. Observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat brought immense joy to the safari participants. A young elephant, playing alongside its family in the water, became an instant favorite among the visitors.

Vivek Gavarkar, a tourist from Indore, shared, “Seeing the elephants play in the water, followed by a bear family and then a tiger—it was a moment I will never forget.” For wildlife enthusiasts, such encounters are rare and serve as a reminder of nature’s unmatched beauty and wonder.
