Om Prakash Rajbhar Launches ‘RSS’ With Uniforms and Ranks, Triggers Political Buzz in UP

Lucknow: A major political stir has erupted in Uttar Pradesh after state minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar announced the formation of his own “RSS.” However, this RSS is not the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Rajbhar has named his organization Rashtriya Suheldev Sena (RSS) — a uniformed cadre equipped with ranks, badges, and structured hierarchy.

The move comes ahead of the crucial 2027 UP Assembly elections, setting off sharp reactions and heated debate across the state’s political landscape.

What Is the New ‘RSS’?

Rajbhar’s Rashtriya Suheldev Sena is not just symbolic. Members have been assigned:

  • Blue uniforms
  • Beret caps
  • Badges on the chest
  • Ranks marked by stars on the shoulders
  • Designations such as Commander, CO, DSP, SI, and Inspector

Photos and videos of uniformed men carrying batons and marching in formation have gone viral, intensifying political discussion.

Why the Sena Was Formed

Speaking about the initiative, Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said the Sena aims to guide rural youth towards skill development and discipline.

“Earlier, our workers used to roam around in yellow T-shirts and gamchas. Now we are officially launching them in a structured way. They will have proper IDs issued by the party,” Rajbhar said.

SBSP leader Arun Rajbhar added that the intention is to prevent youth from going astray. “We want to channel their potential constructively. The Sena will work towards shaping their abilities and giving them direction.”

22 Districts Onboard, Target of 1 Lakh Recruits

Rajbhar said the initiative has already begun in 22 districts, focusing on young people aged 18 to 25, who often remain uncertain about their future prospects.

Under the Rashtriya Suheldev Sena, youth will receive training and skill-oriented guidance. The party aims to induct one lakh members, with expansion planned across the entire state in the coming months.

Political Reactions

The timing and military-style structure of the Sena have sparked intense political debate, with critics questioning the need for a uniformed force ahead of elections. Supporters, meanwhile, call it a step toward empowering rural youth and building a disciplined cadre.
