Olympian Ravi Dahiya to Tie the Knot: Engagement on 29th Nov, Wedding on 30th Nov

Sonipat, Haryana: India’s celebrated Olympic wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya is set to embark on a new journey of life as he prepares to get married. The engagement ceremony will take place on 29th November, followed by the wedding on 30th November with Richa, an MA student from Bilbilan village in Sonipat.

About the Bride
Richa hails from a farmer family in Sonipat’s Bilbilan village. Known for her simple nature and dedication to studies, she is currently pursuing her Master’s degree. The engagement and wedding preparations have created a festive atmosphere, with close family, relatives, and select guests attending the ceremonies. Many international-level wrestlers are also expected to grace the wedding.

About Ravi Dahiya
The 27-year-old Olympian comes from Nahri village, Sonipat, a place that has produced wrestling legends like Mahavir Singh (Moscow 1980 & Los Angeles 1984) and Amit Dahiya (London 2012). Ravi was enrolled at Chhatrasal Stadium, Delhi, at the age of 12 by his father Rakesh Kumar, and has since been trained under the guidance of Mahabali Satpal and coach Virendra. This is the same stadium that produced Olympic medalists Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt.

Tokyo Olympics Silver Medalist
Ravi Dahiya earned silver at the Tokyo Olympics in the 57 kg weight category. In the final, he narrowly lost 4-7 to two-time World Champion Zaur Uguev of the Russian Olympic Committee. During the semifinals, Ravi defeated Iran’s Reza Atrinagharchini 8-3, and also overcame Kazakhstan’s Nurislam after making a stunning comeback from a 7-point deficit.

The engagement and wedding of Ravi Dahiya and Richa promise to be a joyous celebration, bringing together family, friends, and wrestling enthusiasts to honor the champion’s personal milestone.
