In a shocking and tragic incident, a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) lost his life after an accidental firing from his own licensed pistol in Punjab’s Ferozepur district. The incident occurred when the man was getting up from a sofa, and the loaded pistol tucked into his waist discharged suddenly.

The deceased has been identified as Harpinder Singh alias Sonu, who had recently returned to his native village Dhani Sucha Singh from abroad. According to police officials, Harpinder was sitting on a sofa with a relative when the incident took place. As he stood up, the pistol accidentally went off, and the bullet struck him in the abdomen.
