Notorious Gang Leader Raju Irani Challenges Police, Claims “Set Up by Own People”

Bhopal: Notorious gang leader Abid Ali, also known as Raju Irani or Rahman Daku, who was recently arrested from Surat, is giving a tough challenge to the police during his interrogation. Currently on police remand until January 17, Raju claims that he has not committed any crimes since 2017 and alleges that some rival families within his gang are falsely implicating him.

Raju Irani, a well-known figure in Bhopal’s criminal underworld, was presented in the District Court of Bhopal on Sunday and remanded to police custody until January 17. Despite the remand, he appeared laughing in court and told reporters that he would soon be released.

During interrogation, Raju admitted that most of his criminal activities took place outside Bhopal, in cities such as Narmadapuram, Surat, and Mumbai. He revealed that he traveled by train to Surat and deliberately left his mobile phone at home to avoid being tracked. He also found refuge in Surat due to connections with his in-laws.

The police have learned that internal disputes within his gang may be motivating Raju’s claims of being falsely implicated. Authorities, however, suspect that he is deliberately misleading the investigation and fabricating stories to appear innocent. Described as a cunning criminal, Raju reportedly continues to invent false narratives during questioning.

Police investigations have revealed that Raju’s family and close associates may have aided him during his fleeing period. The Nishatpura police, led by Station House Officer Manoj Patwa, have compiled a dossier with details of his family and close contacts. Authorities are now gathering information to ensure that anyone aiding criminals faces legal action.

Raju is also known for his love for animals, maintaining a collection of fighting roosters, rams, and horses at his farmhouse. His animals have reportedly participated in multiple competitions.

Raju Irani’s arrest by Surat police and ongoing remand marks a critical step in tackling organized crime linked to his gang in Bhopal and beyond.
