Notorious Criminal Sanjeev aka ‘Maut’ Injured in Noida Encounter

Greater Noida, UP: A high-profile encounter between Noida police and a gang member took place near the Jalpura Power House late Friday night. The criminal, identified as Sanjeev aka Sunny aka Rocky aka ‘Maut’, was injured in the exchange of gunfire and has been hospitalized for treatment. Sanjeev was wanted in 27 cases of theft and robbery across various police stations in Noida and Aligarh.

The Encounter

According to police sources, the Ecotech-3 police team was conducting routine checks near the Jalpura Power House when they spotted a Honda City car behaving suspiciously. The police signaled the car to stop, but the driver attempted to flee. The vehicle got stuck in a waterlogged section of the road, prompting a chase. Cornered, the suspect allegedly fired at the police in an attempt to escape. The police returned fire, injuring the criminal in his leg.

Criminal Background

Sanjeev, a resident of Tiloti village in Sasni police station area of Hathras district, has been a long-standing troublemaker for law enforcement. During the arrest, police recovered a stolen Honda City car, gold chain, wall clock, clothing, a makeup kit, an illegal .315 bore pistol, a live cartridge, and a spent cartridge from his possession.

Extensive Criminal Record

ADCP Central Noida, R.K. Gautam, described Sanjeev as a major headache for police. He has been booked in 27 cases across Gautam Buddh Nagar and Aligarh, including theft, robbery, and NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) violations. Multiple police stations in Surajpur, Ecotech-3, and Aligarh had been searching for him for a long time. He is considered a notorious thief, and authorities are continuing to investigate his other criminal activities.
