Noida Police Deploy AI to Curb Crime: ‘Yaksh’ App Launched Across 26 Stations, Monitored from Lucknow

Noida, January 17, 2026: In a major step towards modern policing, Noida Police have begun leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to clamp down on criminal activities. The district has launched the ‘Yaksh’ AI app across all 26 police stations, aiming to make law enforcement faster, smarter, and more transparent.

According to police officials, the app will maintain detailed profiles of criminals and repeat offenders, including gang affiliations and criminal history. Key data from sensitive areas prone to illegal activities such as gambling, illicit liquor, snatching, and theft will be fed into the system. With just a name or address, officers can instantly access a suspect’s previous record, speeding up investigations and arrests.

The entire system will be monitored from the Yaksh Control Room in Lucknow, enabling the higher authorities to provide real-time instructions to field officers whenever necessary.

To ensure effective implementation, each police station will have an inspector in charge, specially trained to operate the app. Running under the supervision of the station in-charge, the app will only be accessible via registered mobile numbers and station IDs.

Police officials believe that this digital initiative will not only strengthen crime control but also enhance transparency and efficiency in policing. By reducing paperwork and streamlining data access, the app is expected to accelerate action against criminals, ultimately benefiting the public with safer communities.
