
Noida, Uttar Pradesh: A serious case of sexual assault has come to light in a hotel in Greater Noida, where a young woman from Delhi alleges that a local man raped her after promising to marry her. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to authorities, the victim resides in Delhi’s Jaitpur area and filed a complaint at the local police station. The case has now been transferred to the Noida police for further investigation.
The victim told the police that she met the accused, a resident of Bisrakh area in Greater Noida, about a year ago while working at a private company in Noida. The two initially developed a friendship, which later turned into a romantic relationship.
The woman alleges that the accused lured her to a hotel in Mamura village, Sector-66, Noida, under the pretext of marriage and subsequently committed the assault. When she confronted him about marrying her, he refused and cut off all contact via phone.
Police confirmed that an FIR has been registered under appropriate sections and that a detailed investigation is underway. Further legal action will be taken against the accused based on the findings of the inquiry.
Authorities have urged anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward to assist the ongoing investigation.
