Greater Noida: Work has intensified on a plan to connect Noida International Airport, the largest airport in Uttar Pradesh, with the Ganga Expressway, the state’s longest expressway. The proposed 74-kilometer greenfield link expressway will provide seamless connectivity between the airport and the expressway, significantly reducing travel time for passengers and improving industrial logistics in western Uttar Pradesh.
Route and Design Updates
The link expressway will begin near Film City at the 24th km of Yamuna Expressway and extend up to the 44.3 km point of Ganga Expressway near Siana in Bulandshahr district. The route will pass through 56 villages, with land acquisition planned with farmers’ consent, while compensation rates are being finalized.
During a key project meeting, SP Shahi, Additional Chief Executive Officer of UPEIDA, and RK Singh, CEO of YEIDA, discussed the alignment, including underpasses, U-turns, and elevated stretches to ensure smooth connectivity for nearby sectors and villages. Around 20 km of the expressway falls under YEIDA’s jurisdiction, with detailed design work already underway.
Project Benefits and Costs
The proposed expressway, estimated at ₹60 crore per kilometer (excluding land acquisition), will allow travelers to reach Noida International Airport directly from Ganga Expressway, cutting travel time and enhancing connectivity to industrial hubs in the region. The expressway will also link directly to Yamuna City’s industrial sectors 28, 29, 32, and 33, facilitating smoother cargo movement.
Once operational, the Ganga Expressway—stretching from Meerut to Prayagraj—will integrate with the Yamuna Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, and Agra–Greater Noida corridor, further elevating its strategic importance. The Noida airport link will make the expressway even more critical for passenger traffic and industrial logistics in Uttar Pradesh.
