
Noida is fully prepared to welcome the New Year 2026 with grand celebrations, backed by tight security arrangements to ensure public safety. Residents and partygoers will be allowed to celebrate till 2:00 am, while liquor shops will remain open for an additional hour, up to 11:00 pm, authorities confirmed.
To maintain law and order during the festivities, nearly 3,000 police personnel will be deployed across the city. Surveillance will be strengthened through drones and over 6,000 CCTV cameras monitoring key locations. As a precautionary measure, Section 163 has been imposed across the district for December 31 and January 1.
Vehicular movement in Sector-18, the city’s busiest commercial hub, will be restricted, and commuters using private vehicles may face inconvenience due to traffic diversions and parking restrictions.
Police to Ensure Safe Return of Intoxicated Partygoers
In a significant safety initiative, the Noida Police will arrange cabs and autos to drop heavily intoxicated individuals safely back to their homes. So far, 790 occasional licenses have been issued for New Year parties across the district.
On the instructions of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, strict security measures have been put in place at major markets, malls, pubs, restaurants, and crowded areas. Verified cabs and autos will be stationed outside party venues to ensure safe travel, especially during late hours.
Special Focus on Women’s Safety
Special arrangements have been made to ensure women’s safety. Teams of women police personnel will be deployed at malls, markets, and event venues. Women returning late from celebrations will be escorted home by police if required. Dedicated women safety help desks will also be operational.
Police Advisory and Law Enforcement Measures
Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Rajeev Narayan Mishra stated that enforcement measures will include drink-and-drive checks throughout the city on both days. Police help desks will be set up at several malls, pubs, and restaurants to assist the public and address emergencies.
Hotels and Nightlife Buzz with Festive Offers
Hotels, restaurants, and cafés in Noida and Greater Noida are witnessing high demand, offering DJ nights, unlimited food packages, stay packages, and couple specials. Many establishments are attracting customers with early bird discounts of 15–25% for guests arriving before 8:00 pm on December 31. Corporate and group packages are also available for parties of six or more.
Disco Nights and Entertainment Licenses
The district entertainment department has received 12 applications for organizing disco and DJ nights. Assistant Commissioner (Entertainment & State Tax) S.C. Singh Vissen confirmed that more than a dozen online applications have been submitted for New Year entertainment events.
Traffic Advisory: Avoid Private Vehicles
The Noida Traffic Police has implemented special traffic diversions and parking regulations for December 31 and January 1. Parking will be prohibited on roads outside major malls and markets, including Sector-18, GIP Mall, Garden Galleria, DLF Mall, Wave Mall, Logix, Grand Venice, Gaur City, and others. Several entry cuts toward Sector-18 market will remain closed, while exit routes will stay open.
Citizens are strongly advised to avoid using private vehicles and opt for public transport or authorized cabs. For assistance, the police helpline 9971009001 will remain active round the clock.
