Pravesh Singh, Noida: The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) in Noida is gearing up to take action against 15 more builders following a completed investigation. After strict scrutiny of the JP Group and Suraksha Group, the EOW has now turned its attention to these additional developers. The Noida Authority had submitted detailed reports against them, and all requested documents related to their projects have been provided, paving the way for imminent action.
The 15 projects under review involve stuck investments of approximately ₹55,000 crore, affecting around 25,000–30,000 homebuyers in the city. Despite the central government’s Amitabh Kant policy, adopted by the Uttar Pradesh government to revive stalled projects, several builders have shown no interest in progressing their developments.
Many of the builders face allegations of fund diversion, meaning that money allocated for a specific project was used elsewhere, resulting in project delays. Legal cases have already been filed against some of these developers, while investigations continue for others. Thousands of buyers are still waiting for their homes, and the Noida Authority has a substantial amount of funds tied up in these stalled projects.
