Noida Conversion Racket Linked to Rajasthan: Banswara Man Suresh Arrested, Wife and Sister-in-Law Also Under Scanner

Jaipur/Noida: The alleged Christian conversion racket recently exposed in Greater Noida is now showing links extending into Rajasthan. Following the arrest of a key accused from Banswara district, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police and the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) have widened their investigation to trace the full network operating across Noida and Greater Noida.

The case came to light after police busted suspicious prayer meetings being conducted in a housing society, allegedly as part of an organised conversion drive. Investigators have now identified Suresh, a resident of Banswara (Rajasthan), as a crucial figure in the racket.

WhatsApp Group Used to Plan Operations

Police officials stated that the group was operating in a systematic manner, targeting economically weaker sections, especially poor women and children. During the raid, authorities recovered six boxes containing over 250 religious books, along with pamphlets, posters, and other promotional material linked to conversion activities.

The accused persons’ mobile phones were examined, leading to the discovery of a WhatsApp group through which strategies were planned and new people were recruited. Police also revealed that prayer sessions held every Sunday were recorded live on camera, allegedly to circulate the content further and attract more people.

‘Forced Vomiting’ Called a ‘Holy Ritual’

The investigation has also revealed disturbing allegations. Police said women were emotionally and psychologically manipulated during the so-called conversion process. In some cases, victims were allegedly forced to vomit, which was described by the accused as a “holy purification process” to encourage acceptance of Christianity.

Authorities are now probing these allegations in detail, considering them serious and sensitive.

Two Arrested, Sent to Judicial Custody

The Beta-2 police station registered a case and arrested two accused:

  • Suresh, son of Shankar Lal, resident of Banswara (Rajasthan), currently living in Sigma-2, Gautam Buddh Nagar
  • Chand Kiran, son of Gaj Singh Prajapati, resident of Aichchhar

Both have been sent to judicial custody. Police are continuing raids to locate other suspects involved in the alleged racket.

Role of Wife and Sister-in-Law Under Investigation

According to police, Suresh was not acting alone. His wife and sister-in-law were also reportedly involved in luring victims. They allegedly promised free education, marriage assistance for poor women, and distributed books, clothes, toffees, and other gifts to attract women and children to prayer meetings.

Police claimed that once people began attending these gatherings, they were gradually influenced and mentally prepared for conversion.

Raid Conducted on February 8

Police officials said they received information on February 8 about conversion activities taking place in the Aichchhar area under Beta-2 jurisdiction. Acting swiftly, the police team reached the location and found Suresh, his wife, his sister-in-law, and Chand Kiran allegedly addressing a group of women and providing information related to Christianity.

The matter is now under close monitoring, and intelligence agencies are also assisting in tracing the full network. Officials have assured strict action against all those found guilty under the law.
