
Darbhanga, Bihar: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will reach Darbhanga today as part of the second phase of his ‘Samriddhi Yatra’. During the visit, he is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects worth over ₹138 crore. The Yatra will also include inspections of major infrastructure projects such as the inter-state bus terminal, Darbhanga Airport, and the Amas-Darbhanga road.
Inaugurations and Foundations
Under the Yatra, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation for 50 projects worth ₹105 crore and inaugurate 40 projects valued at ₹33 crore. The programme will begin at Darbhanga Airport and extend to the Delhi Morh bus stand, as well as the under-construction terminal building. Officials say the visit aims to accelerate development in the Mithilanchal region and bring ongoing projects to completion efficiently.
Inspection of Inter-State Bus Terminal
At Delhi Morh, Nitish Kumar will review the modern inter-state bus terminal being built at a cost of ₹88.78 crore, scheduled for completion by December 2027. During this inspection, the Chief Minister will also view models and exhibition stalls of 11 key projects announced under the ‘Samriddhi Yatra’. Additionally, he will visit the Amas-Darbhanga road project’s camp office to assess construction quality and progress.
Darbhanga Airport Update
A significant part of the visit will involve inspecting the under-construction civil enclave and terminal building at Darbhanga Airport. Officials say the terminal structure will be completed within a month. District Magistrate Kaushal Kumar confirmed that ‘CAT-II’ lighting installation is underway, expected to be completed by March, enabling the long-awaited night landing facility for aircraft.
Public Meeting at Raj Maidan
The Chief Minister’s convoy will reach Nagendra Jha Stadium, where he will inspect welfare scheme stalls and hold a district-level review meeting to discuss and address development bottlenecks. The visit will conclude with a public meeting at Raj Maidan, after which the Chief Minister will depart for Patna. He will also review land earmarked for a logistics park and cargo hub during the visit.
