Nalanda, Bihar: In a significant operation aimed at dismantling an illegal arms trafficking network, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), in coordination with the Bihar Special Task Force (STF), conducted raids at multiple locations in Nalanda district on Thursday. The surprise operations caused a stir in local communities.

Targeted Searches at Key Suspects’ Residences

The joint investigative team focused on the homes of two major suspects: Mohammad Parvez in Gauragarh police jurisdiction and Raju Yadav in Moratalab village under Bhaganbigha police area. Both individuals had previously been implicated in illegal arms activities, and prior joint actions by the police and STF had led to the seizure of a large number of live cartridges from their premises.

Focus on Documents and Digital Evidence

The operation primarily aimed to seize records, mobile data, bank transactions, and other digital evidence linked to the trafficking network. STF officials clarified that no objectionable items or weapons were recovered during the searches. A relative of Raju Yadav stated, “The STF and NIA team arrived in the morning, conducted questioning, and returned after completing the search without seizing any items.”

Crucial Diary Yields Major Lead

STF Officer Uttam Kumar confirmed that in recent days, the authorities had received critical inputs regarding arms trafficking in Nalanda and surrounding areas. He said, “During the raids, we recovered a highly important diary and other records, which have been immediately seized. This is expected to provide substantial leads in our ongoing investigation.”
