
Basti, UP: In a shocking incident highlighting the dark side of family disputes, a nephew allegedly murdered his uncle over a property-sharing conflict in Basti district, Uttar Pradesh. The crime took place in Belwaria Jungle village, under Gaur police station limits. Police have arrested five accused in connection with the case.
Brutal Attack While Returning from Flour Mill
According to police, the incident occurred on the night of 19 December. Victim Dharmendra Chaudhary was returning home after having a meal at his regular flour mill. The attackers, lying in wait, ambushed him from behind and struck him repeatedly with bent hoes and sticks, leaving him severely injured.
Victim Dies During Treatment
Family members rushed the injured Dharmendra to the local Community Health Centre (CHC) for emergency care. Doctors referred him to the district hospital due to the severity of his injuries, where he succumbed during treatment.
Police Uncover Murder Conspiracy
ASP Shyamakant confirmed that police investigations have revealed the murder plot. A total of five accused—Mohan Kumar, Jitendra, Ashish, Raj, and Amarendra—have been implicated. Two of the accused are minors.
Motive: Land Dispute
Investigations indicate that the nephew orchestrated the murder due to a property dispute with his uncle. He, along with four friends, carried out the premeditated attack.
Weapons and Evidence Recovered
Police seized two sticks used in the attack, the victim’s mobile phone, and two motorcycles involved in the incident.
Accused Sent to Jail
All five accused have been booked under Sections 103(1) and 191(2) BNS and sent to jail. Legal proceedings against the minor accused are being conducted under the Juvenile Justice Act.
