Naxal Leadership Crumbles: Devji Emerges as Next Target After Hidma’s Elimination

Raipur, Chhattisgarh: The Naxalite movement is facing its most severe setback yet, with security forces systematically eliminating top leaders. Following the killing of infamous Naxal commander Hidma, only six key leaders remain within the organization. Devji, the Maoist General Secretary, has now emerged as the primary target for security forces.

Only Six Top Leaders Left

After Hidma’s death, the remaining senior Naxal leaders are operating in isolated locations under extreme pressure. Among them are:

  • Politburo members: Ganpati, Devji
  • Central Committee members: Sangram, Uday
  • Others: Ganesh Uike and Anal Da

In Bastar, only three major Naxals remain actively operating. Devji, considered the most dangerous among them, commands the organization’s forces in the region.

Security Forces Focus on Devji

Security agencies have intensified operations to locate Devji. While he remains active in Bastar, there is a possibility he may seek refuge in neighboring states. Following Hidma’s elimination, forces have begun targeted operations to neutralize Devji and other remaining leaders.

Ganpati, once a powerful decision-maker within the Maoist hierarchy, has mostly withdrawn from active operations due to age and illness, functioning now as a mentor. Ganesh Uike continues to operate alongside Devji in Bastar.

Leadership Crisis in Naxal Ranks

Hidma’s death has left the Naxal organization in a severe leadership vacuum. The elimination of prominent commanders has drastically reduced the group’s operational capacity. Reports indicate that Devji may have also been killed in a recent encounter, further destabilizing the organization.

With security forces maintaining relentless pressure, Naxal insurgency in Chhattisgarh is rapidly approaching its end, signaling a critical weakening of the movement’s structure and influence.
