Chhapra, Bihar: On the occasion of National Girl Child Day on 24th January, we bring you the inspiring story of a father and his seven daughters from Ekma in Saran district, Bihar. Kamal Singh, a humble flour mill owner, has defied societal stereotypes and economic limitations to raise seven daughters who are now making their mark in various uniformed services. Locally, the girls are affectionately known as the “Seven Singh Sisters.”
A Father’s Determination
Despite facing societal pressure and financial constraints, Kamal Singh was determined that his daughters would be educated, independent, and self-reliant. Rising at 4 a.m. and supervising their studies and physical training till 11 p.m., he personally ensured their growth, instilling discipline and confidence. His efforts have paid off spectacularly.
Seven Sisters Serving the Nation
Today, all seven daughters are proudly serving in uniform:
- Rani Kumari Singh – Bihar Police
- Renu Kumari Singh – Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
- Sony Kumari Singh – Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
- Preeti Singh – Bihar Police Crime Branch
- Pinki Singh – Excise Police
- Rinki Singh – Bihar Police
- Nanhi Singh – Government Railway Police (GRP)
Honoring Their Parents
In gratitude and respect for their parents, the sisters built a four-story house named “Singh Sister Palace.” The family has earned admiration across the district, symbolizing the power of parental support and the potential of daughters. Kamal Singh also has a son who completed his B.Tech and currently resides in Delhi.
The story of the Singh sisters is not just a local inspiration—it is a testament to the fact that daughters are blessings, not burdens, needing only opportunities and trust to shine.
