Mystery Deepens as Female Panther Found Dead in Banswara; Foam Emerged from Mouth Before Collapse

A mysterious death of a female panther in the Harji Dahida area of Banswara has triggered panic among villagers and prompted an immediate investigation by the Forest Department. Moments before its death, the panther reportedly attacked a local boy, entered a nearby house, and then suddenly began frothing at the mouth before collapsing.

Panther Entered Village, Attacked Boy

According to local residents, the panther had strayed from the forest into the village early morning, creating widespread panic. It pounced on a young boy, who narrowly escaped by running to safety.

The incident sent shockwaves through the locality, forcing villagers to lock themselves indoors.

Froth Emerges from Mouth; Panther Dies Within Minutes

After the attack, the panther entered another house in the neighbourhood. Eyewitnesses reported that the animal suddenly began to foam at the mouth. Within minutes, it lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

When the Forest Department team arrived, the panther was already dead.

Forest Department Investigates; Post-Mortem Conducted

Authorities from the Forest Department expressed surprise over the sudden death. The carcass was sent for post-mortem, after which it was cremated as per wildlife protocol.

Officials stated that the exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report is released. However, preliminary suspicion suggests that the panther may have consumed a toxic substance, which could explain the frothing at the mouth and rapid collapse.

The incident has sparked fear as well as speculation among villagers. Many believe the panther may have ingested poison prior to entering the village. Meanwhile, the Forest Department has increased monitoring in the region to prevent similar incidents and ensure safety.
