Mysterious Predator Strikes in Jaisalmer: Dogs Found Dead, Villagers in Panic

Jaisalmer, Rajasthan: A wave of fear has gripped the villages of Hansua and surrounding areas in Jaisalmer as an unknown predator has reportedly killed multiple dogs in recent days. The mysterious attacker struck the Nehru ki Dhani settlement early in the morning, claiming the lives of four dogs, leaving villagers anxious and unsettled.

Nighttime Attacks Spread Panic

According to locals, the predator strikes under the cover of darkness, targeting domestic dogs and vanishing before being identified. Early reports also indicate attacks in Dalaram ki Dhani, heightening tensions in the region. Villager Barkat Khan said, “For the past few nights, we have felt movements of a large animal near the settlements. It appears only in darkness, making identification nearly impossible.”

Forest Department Launches Search Operation

The Forest Department swiftly responded to the alarming incidents. DFO Kumar Shubham confirmed that teams have inspected the area twice and are examining tracks left by the predator. “We are trying to identify the footprints and signs to determine the species of the animal,” said DFO Shubham.

Officials have raised the possibility that the attacks could be the work of a wild leopard or another large predatory animal that has ventured close to human settlements in search of prey. The Forest Department continues its surveillance and has urged villagers to remain cautious, especially during night hours.

Safety Advisory

Authorities have advised residents to keep pets indoors at night and report any sightings or unusual animal movements immediately. The investigation is ongoing, and the forest team is monitoring the area closely to prevent further incidents.
