Muzaffarpur Girl Reaches Police Station After Love Marriage, Explains Story to Authorities

Muzaffarpur, Bihar: In a unique turn of events, a young woman who was reported missing from the city’s police jurisdiction surprised authorities by walking into the station to clarify that she had not been kidnapped. Instead, she had voluntarily left home and married her long-time boyfriend in a temple ceremony.

The 9-year-old love story between the couple began on social media. During police questioning, the woman explained that she had met the man online nearly nine years ago, and over time, their relationship developed into love. The couple had lived together briefly in a live-in arrangement before family pressure forced her to return to her parental home.

Marriage Against Family Wishes
The woman told police that she had repeatedly expressed her desire to marry her boyfriend, but her parents had refused. Frustrated by the lack of support, she decided to leave home with the knowledge of her partner and wed in a temple ceremony.

After her family reported her missing and filed a kidnapping complaint, police began an investigation. However, the young woman voluntarily came forward on Saturday, narrating the entire sequence of events to authorities. She requested that neither she nor her husband be harassed and stated her intention to live with her husband in her marital home.

Husband Yet to Appear Before Police
While the woman provided her statement in court, her husband has not yet presented himself to the authorities. Police are continuing the investigation, though the case has taken a non-criminal turn due to the voluntary nature of her departure.

This case highlights the complexities of love marriages in conservative family settings and the challenges couples face when seeking to marry against parental consent.
