Muzaffarnagar Father Murder: Sisters Kill Father After Years of Restrictions and Conflict

Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, February 24, 2026: In a shocking case from Muzaffarnagar, two sisters allegedly murdered their father after lacing the family’s dessert with sleeping pills. Police investigations reveal that their elder brother was also a potential target during the attack.

Conflict Over Mobile Use and Clothing

The father, Ram Prasad, was reportedly strict with his daughters regarding mobile phone usage and clothing. The sisters secretly used their phones, enjoying watching reels, which their father disapproved of. The strict restrictions reportedly fueled growing resentment, culminating in the fatal incident.

Police sources indicate that three days before the murder, the elder brother, Amit, had reportedly punished the younger sister. Ram Prasad reportedly discouraged his daughters from attending local events, family functions, or visiting relatives.

Komal, one of the accused sisters, aged 32, said:
“I am 32 years old, and my father had not yet arranged my marriage. He treated sons and daughters very differently, restricting mobile use and dictating what we could wear.”

Method of the Murder

According to police, before the attack, both sisters laced kheer (a rice pudding dessert) with sleeping pills and served it to their father, mother Chandrakali, brother Amit, and younger sibling Sumit. Once the family was unconscious, the sisters reportedly woke at around 3 AM and attacked their father with knives kept at home.

After committing the murder, the sisters changed their blood-stained clothes, cleaned the site, and hid the knives and bloody clothing in different rooms of the house.

Expert Analysis

Psychologists have suggested that emotional abuse and long-term family conflict may have contributed to the sisters’ actions. Mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, or personality disorders could have influenced their behavior, possibly triggered by years of perceived emotional maltreatment by their father.

Family Background

The family resides near Guru Ravidas Mandir on Jansath Road and owns 32 bighas of agricultural land. Apart from Komal, the household includes a minor daughter, 33-year-old son Amit, and 11-year-old Sumit. Komal reportedly discontinued formal education after class eight and assisted with family farming activities.
