Meerut: The high-profile Saurabh Rajput murder case has once again come into sharp focus after explosive revelations surfaced during Friday’s court hearing. Cab driver Ajab Singh, testifying before District Judge Anupam Kumar, detailed the shocking behaviour of Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla immediately after the gruesome killing.
Murdered Husband, Then Went on a 13-Day Himachal Tour
According to the driver’s testimony, Muskan and Sahil had murdered Saurabh Rajput in the most brutal manner and went on a 13-day vacation to Shimla, Manali, and Kasol the very next day. On 4 March 2025, the cab picked them up from Delhi Chungi, beginning their leisure tour booked through Vikas Travels.
Ajab Singh revealed that the couple drank alcohol every single day, partied freely, and even attended a rave party in Kasol, where Sahil celebrated his birthday.
Lied to Daughter to Hide the Crime
Shockingly, Saurabh’s mobile phone remained with Muskan throughout the trip. Whenever Saurabh’s daughter Pihu called, Muskan calmly told her, “Papa is in a meeting,” deliberately hiding the truth to avoid suspicion.
Paid ₹53,000 for the Trip
The driver testified that Muskan paid a total of ₹53,000 to the travel company—via both cash and online transactions. He dropped them back in Meerut on 17 March, after which he provided his statement at Brahmpuri police station and accompanied police to all the hotels where the couple stayed.
Intense Cross-Examination in Court
During the hearing, defence counsel Rekha Jain cross-questioned the driver rigorously—asking for precise locations, hotel details, his agreement with the travel agency, and the sequence of events.
Meanwhile, District Government Counsel (Criminal) Krishna Kumar Chaubey confirmed that the testimony of the case’s first investigating officer, Karmveer Singh, will be recorded on 26 November.
Witnesses Examined So Far
Out of the 36 total witnesses, key testimonies recorded include statements from:
- The victim’s brother Bablu
- Mother Renu
- Head Moharrir Brijesh Kumar
- Friends of the deceased
- Shopkeepers who sold the knife and drum
- Doctors who performed the post-mortem
- Hotel staff from Himachal
- And now cab driver Ajab Singh
How the Chilling Murder Took Place
Saurabh Rajput, employed at a London mall, had returned to Meerut on 24 February. After celebrating daughter Pihu’s birthday on 25 February and Muskan’s birthday on 27 February, tragedy struck.
On the night of 3 March, Muskan and her lover Sahil:
- Stabbed Saurabh in the chest
- Slit his throat
- Cut the body into pieces
- Packed the remains in a blue plastic drum
- Sealed it with cement
Two days later, on 5 March, they left for their Himachal trip as if nothing had happened. The sensational case was uncovered on 18 March, and both were arrested the following day.
