Mumbai Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped and Held Captive for 10 Days at Farmhouse in Rajasthan’s Mewar Region

Udaipur, January 16:
A disturbing case of alleged gang rape and illegal confinement has surfaced from Udaipur, Rajasthan, where a young woman from Mumbai was reportedly sexually assaulted and tortured for nearly ten days at a farmhouse in the Mewar region.

According to the complaint filed by the survivor at Sukher police station, the incident began when a man identified as Karan Singh allegedly lured her to Udaipur on the pretext of offering well-paid work related to an event. Trusting his assurances, the woman travelled from Mumbai, only to fall victim to a pre-planned conspiracy, police sources said.

The survivor has alleged that upon her arrival in Udaipur, Karan Singh took her to a farmhouse located in the Sukher police station area, where she was forcibly confined for around 10 days. During this period, Karan Singh and his associates, identified as Hitesh and Bhura, allegedly subjected her to physical and mental torture.

The complaint further states that the accused frequently held drinking parties at the farmhouse and forced the woman to consume alcohol. She has alleged that she was repeatedly raped by the three men during her captivity.

Following the registration of the case, the police detained one of the accused for questioning, while efforts are underway to trace and arrest the other two suspects who are currently absconding.

Confirming the development, police officials said that a detailed investigation has been initiated and the statements of the survivor are being recorded. “One accused has been detained and interrogated. Raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining accused. Further revelations are expected as the investigation progresses,” a senior police officer said.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns over women’s safety and crimes against women, even in prominent tourist destinations like Udaipur.
