Mumbai Horror: Deaf-Mute Woman Becomes Pregnant After Rape, DNA Test Reveals Father as Perpetrator

Mumbai: In a deeply disturbing case from Mumbai’s Colaba Parade area, a 20-year-old deaf-mute woman was allegedly raped and became pregnant. Following DNA testing, her father was identified as the biological parent of the fetus and was arrested by the police.

Authorities initially collected DNA samples from 17 suspects to confirm the identity of the perpetrator. The investigation revealed that the assault occurred between March and September 21, 2025.

How the Case Unfolded

The case came to light last September when the woman complained to her grandmother about severe stomach discomfort, indicating, through hand gestures, a crawling sensation. She was admitted to Mumbai’s KEM & Albless Hospital, where medical examination confirmed she was five months pregnant. The hospital immediately informed the police.

Father Initially Denied Allegations

Police reported that initial communication with the victim was challenging, as she was unable to speak and hesitant to give a statement. During questioning, the father denied any sexual abuse and refused to explain how his daughter became pregnant. After counseling, the victim agreed to formally lodge a complaint.

DNA Test Confirms Father as Offender

Based on the victim’s information, two individuals—a man and a 17-year-old boy—were initially arrested. Subsequently, DNA and blood samples were collected from 17 suspects, including her father. Genetic testing of the fetus confirmed a positive match solely with her father, revealing the shocking truth.

The police continue to investigate the role of others potentially involved, underlining the severity and premeditated nature of this crime. The case was officially registered on September 22, 2025.
