Madhya Pradesh Weather Update

Madhya Pradesh is set to witness a rapid shift in weather conditions. While the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not issued any alerts for the state, temperatures have dropped nearly 8°C over the past four days. Kotni’s Karaundi has recorded a chilly minimum of 3.5°C, making it one of the coldest places in the state. No major warnings or advisories have been issued for Sunday. Most parts of the state are expected to see a gradual rise in temperatures starting next week.

Weather in MP Shows Contrasting Patterns

The state is experiencing two distinct weather patterns. Clear skies are bringing bright and intense sunlight during the day, while nights remain cold with chilly winds. The IMD has not issued any new alerts. Madhya Pradesh has largely been free from rain, hail, fog, or cold waves. On Saturday, Kotni’s Karaundi recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 3.5°C, a drop of 2°C within 24 hours. No significant changes are expected over the next two days, but temperatures may rise slightly after three days.

Warmest Days and Coldest Nights

Different regions in Madhya Pradesh are experiencing contrasting temperatures. The Mahakoshal region, including Kotni Karaundi and Shahdol Kalyapur, is seeing cold wave-like conditions, with nighttime temperatures hovering around 3–4°C. Meanwhile, areas like Khargone and Khandwa are experiencing daytime temperatures resembling early summer, reaching 29–31°C.

Bhopal Weather Forecast for Sunday

According to the IMD, Bhopal will have clear skies on Sunday, though morning fog may linger. Winds will blow at a speed of 8–10 km/h. The day’s maximum temperature is expected around 28°C, while the minimum may drop to approximately 11°C.

Clear Skies and Cold Winds

The state’s weather is expected to remain dry across all districts, with clear skies. The Bundelkhand and Mahakoshal regions will experience chilly winds. Bright sunlight during the day will provide relief from the severe cold. Except for a few areas, most districts will see a respite from cold wave-like conditions. Temperature increases of 2°C or more are expected on February 9 and 10.

A Taste of Warm Weather Soon

After record-breaking cold earlier in 2026, residents of MP will soon feel the onset of warmer weather. According to retired meteorologist Dr. Shailendra Nayak, based on historical records and emerging trends, the second half of February may feel warmer than usual.
